The New York Knicks visit the Washington Wizards on Saturday in a game pairing one of the NBA’s best teams with one of its worst.
The Knicks (20-10) have been on a roll lately, moving up to third in the East. Rookie center Ariel Hukporti has seen his playing time dwindle lately, getting off the bench to play in just one of New York’s last seven games. The Knicks’ other rookie, guard Pacome Dadiet is in a similar situation, but will be hoping to get on the court as he last did in Dec. 19’s 133-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Wizards (5-23) are enduring a nightmare season, but that has at least opened the doors for rookies to contribute. Center Alex Sarr has started 25 games, while point guard Carlton Carrington is second on the team in assists. Forward Kyshawn George has become one of the team’s first options off the bench, offering size and energy inside.
