JACKSON, Tenn.—Opening ceremonies for the Miss Volunteer America Pageant kicks off in the Hub City.
The ceremony began at 3 Sunday afternoon at the Ned.
At the event, the 51 state titleholders were introduced to the crowd.
Each contestant presents their state flags and introduces the state princess.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
“This is the opening ceremony of Miss Volunteer America, so we are excited to welcome all 50 states here to Jackson, Tennessee as they carry their state pride flag, and we are so we’re excited to have them and their families,” said Berkley Bryant, Reigning Miss Volunteer America.
The Miss Volunteer America Pageant Preliminaries will officially begin on June 18 and competition will continue until June 20.
Finals will begin on June 21.
