NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. — Chris Gabriele had already gone through what he figured would be the hardest part. He striped his first tee shot down the first fairway Monday morning at Aronimink on the first day of the first PGA Championship practice round he’s ever played. It was a pinch-me moment for the 30-year-old native of Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island and first-year head pro at Old Westbury Golf and Country Club. He qualified for the PGA by eagling the final hole of the PGA Professional Championship at Bandon Dunes. So, Gabriele knows pressure.
