FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) –The presidential election has caused many across the nation to have a significant increase in stress.

People stressed about presidential politics has gone up from 52% in 2016 to 69% in 2024.

Politics ranks as one of the top subjects that many consider a source of stress in their daily lives.

A doctor with Meridian Behavioral Health says that many of his patients have turned to alcohol and drugs.

But he hopes that they will be able to get away from that.

“There are many different peoples feeling very marginalized as we go down this path. And you know the most we can do is see our neighbors, see our family members, see our friends, and see them as people,” said Dr. Lew Zeidner, CEO of Meridian Behavioral Health.
