Dozens of Iranian leaders were wiped out in the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes which also killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Israel Defense Forces announced.

President Trump announced the death of Khamenei on Truth Social, calling the Supreme Leader “one of the most evil people in History.”

The IDF said 40 top Iranian officials were killed in “Operation Epic Fury.”

Among the officials killed were Iran’s Minister of Defense, Head of Intelligence, and the Supreme Leader’s Advisor for Security Affairs and Secretary of the Defense Council.

“The world is a better place without them,” The IDF wrote on X.

Iran had not confirmed the deaths as of Saturday evening, but President Trump told NBC News “a large number of their leaders have also been killed.”

“I don’t mean like two people,” the President told the outlet, without specifying a number.

There were three attacks Saturday, the President said, adding “you know about the one that was covered, but there were two other attacks, which inflicted very great losses on their leadership.”

When asked by NBC News who he believes will replace the Supreme Leader, Trump joked, “I don’t know, but at some point they’ll be calling me to ask who I’d like.”

“I’m only being sarcastic when I say that,” he added.
