Rams coach Sean McVay, wife welcome second baby

Hours after the Rams clinched a playoff berth, Sean McVay’s wife gave birth.

The Los Angeles head coach told reporters Tuesday morning his spouse delivered their second baby early Monday morning — less than a day after his team punched its ticket to the postseason with a 41-34 home win over the Lions.

McVay said his wife, Veronika, and the newborn are both happy and healthy.

The Rams got creative when it came to telling their fans about the new McVay, calling the delivery of Christian Alexander McVay a new team “transaction” with a picture of a No. 2 Rams jersey.

“Congratulations to the McVay family! 🥰” the Rams wrote in a caption on their Instagram page.

The baby is the McVays’ second boy — Veronika gave birth to their first, Jordan John McVay, in October 2023. The Rams announced his arrival with a similar “LA Rams Transactions” tweet.

McVay and Khomyn met years ago, when he was working on the Commanders coaching staff. They got engaged in 2019, and officially tied the knot in Los Angeles in 2022.

McVay’s going to have to do quite the juggling act this week when it comes to being Dad and Coach — the Rams play on Thursday night against the Seahawks in a game that could decide the NFC West champ and the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Both teams head into the matchup with 11-3 records. Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. ET at Lumen Field in Seattle.
