The Jets are having one of their most disappointing seasons in memory … and that is saying something.
There is still time for this Jets team to turn things around from 2-5 and make something out of a season that began with Super Bowl aspirations. The other incarnations in recent years are not that lucky.
The Jets have had a string of disappointing seasons since going to back-to-back AFC Championship games after the 2009 and 2010 season. This may be a depressing exercise, but we are going to rank the most disappointing years of the playoff drought, based on how high expectations were entering the season and how far short they fell.
If this year’s team fails to make the playoffs, the 2024 season will be the new No. 1 on the list.
