Jenny McCarthy is the queen of piecing clues together on The Masked Singer, but this week her costar Robin Thicke is giving her a run for her money.

In Us Weekly’s exclusive clip of the Wednesday, November 5, ’60s Night episode, Thicke, 47, jokes that he’s finally taking a page out of McCarthy’s book for his guess about Goo’s identity.

“I’m gonna Jenny out this week, and I’m gonna try to out-Jenny on the clues,” Thicke says. “I’m not usually known for my clues, but I do know I’m a big fan of this young artist.”

The “Blurred Lines” singer goes on to explain that he thinks the gold coins in Goo’s clue package is a reference to the album Gold-Diggers Sound by Leon Bridges, who he thinks is under the mask.

“I’m clueing out, Jenny!” Thicke exclaims after explaining his theory. “I’m doing the work! I’m not a slacker. I’m not a slacker, Mom!”

McCarthy, 52, then replies, “I’m actually really proud of you. You’re learning.”

Earlier in the clip, Ken Jeong surmises that Goo is Brian McKnight “based on height alone.”

The other panelists don’t agree, but Thicke notes that he has a special connection with McKnight, 55.

“When I was 16 years old, Brian McKnight signed me to my first record deal,” he explains before adding, “I’m not feeling what you’re putting down right now.”

Earlier this year, McCarthy exclusively told Us that she has a reputation among her castmates for being highly competitive about guesses.

“They would all tell you the same thing, that Jenny is psychotic in terms of competition,” she quipped in March. “I act like it’s the Olympics, and for me it is. … I’m the weirdo that goes home after taping and I lay there. Do you remember the movie A Beautiful Mind when he’s got everything on the wall? That is what I am doing every night, I’m literally putting clues together, so by the time I go back I’m like, ‘I think I have an idea.’”

Fans of The Masked Singer had the night off last week because of the World Series, but this week’s episode will feature the Group B Finals and determine whether Goo, Bluebell or Wasp is moving forward. Group C, meanwhile, will make their debut on the Wednesday, November 13, episode.

The Masked Singer airs on Fox Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
