Selena Gomez is showing off her natural beauty!
Posting via her Instagram Story on Friday, January 16, Only Murders in the Building star shared a makeup-free selfie and looked as gorgeous as ever.
The Rare Beauty cosmetics founder, 33, was all smiles in the snap as she posed casually with her hand resting gently on the side of her forehead as she looked towards the camera.
Gomez has been outspoken about her self-confidence journey when it comes to beauty and her body after being regularly scrutinized while growing up as a public figure.
“Being in the public eye from such an early age certainly comes with a lot of pressure. It’s hard to feel comfortable when you feel like everyone is watching, judging and commenting on the way you look,” she told Glamour UK in December 2022. “Self-confidence is still something I work on daily, but when I stopped trying to conform to society’s unrealistic standards of beauty, my perspective entirely shifted.”
Gomez launched Rare Beauty in September 2020, according to the brand’s website, with the goal of “breaking down unrealistic standards of perfection. ”
The Disney alum explained how she thought her brand could play a role in lifting people up and not feel bad about themselves.
“I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand — it can make an impact. I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and just start embracing our own uniqueness,” Gomez said.
In a separate interview with the Glamour UK published in February 2022, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer further detailed her ups and downs with her confidence surrounding the way she looks.
“It took me a long time to realize that I only wanted to be myself – that what made me unique was also what made me beautiful,” she shared with the outlet at the time.
In March 2025, Gomez slammed strangers for body shaming her during an appearance on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast and revealed how the negative comments have affected her over the years.
“My weight’s a big [issue]. Everyone just has something to say and it’s really making me sad and — not even sad because, I’m not a victim, everyone — I just think it’s made me a tad bitter and I feel really guilty for saying that but it’s true,” Gomez said on the podcast.
Gomez also explained that her weight often fluctuates as a side effect of the medication she takes for lupus.
“I would rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they’re what helps me,” Gomez continued. “Not a model, never will be. I think they’re awesome, mind you. I’m just definitely not that.”
Gomez added that she generally tries to avoid reading comments about herself on social media, but it’s not always possible.
“I’m human and sometimes I read things,” she said. “But I do, most of the time, ignore everything. I don’t have anything on my phone at that moment. So, there are ways to combat it.”
