Shannon Sharpe threw a 100-mph fastball at the Cowboys.
After the Cowboys got shellacked, 34-10, at home by the Texans on Monday to fall to 3-7, star wideout CeeDee Lamb and defensive back Trevon Diggs were spotted partying in a club and apparently filming a music video.
On his “Nightcap” podcast with Chad Ochocinco, Sharpe eviscerated the franchise from owner Jerry Jones on down over a lack of leadership.
“That’s why your Cowboys suck — because two of their best players, this is what they’re doing,” Sharpe told Ochocinco.
“That shows you how much the game of football means to them. That told me everything I need to know! I see better than I hear.”
Sharpe said that was a phrase his grandfather used to say, admonishing kids if actions did not match words.
“Everybody talks about winning, but do you take the steps in order to win?” Sharpe asked.
“How is partying — you got your ass kicked! I would’ve left the stadium with a bag over my head! Ain’t no way you’ll see me leaving the stadium when I got beat like that. After I’ve gotten beat like that every game! … And you do this?!
“It’s disrespectful. It’s disrespectful to the fans who pay their hard-earned money. But you know what, it couldn’t happen to a better franchise. Because all that owner do is run his mouth and talk about what they’re gonna do … And all their players do, because they take it from the owner, is run their mouth — and they ain’t won dog crap. None of them!”
Sharpe questioned who was the leader on the team, whether it’s Lamb, Diggs or quarterback Dak Prescott, whose season is over after hamstring surgery.
“They got no leaders, Ocho. That is the problem that the Cowboys have,” Sharpe said. “They’re devoid of leadership from top to bottom.”
