While Jonathan Owens and the Chicago Bears lost their Thursday, December 26, game against the Seattle Seahawks, he made up with sideline support.
Owens, 29, received a sweet kiss from wife Simone Biles ahead of the matchup. The couple, who have been married since spring 2023, packed on the PDA at the Bears’ home Soldier Field.
Moments before their kiss, Owens was taken aback that the Olympic gymnast, 27, wore a custom outfit plastered with images of himself.
Biles, known for her chic game day style, stepped out in a cropped fleece hoodie that had pictures of Owens in his uniform across the front, back and sleeves. She wore a matching pair of patchwork pants, both of which were crafted by Philadelphia-based designer Kelly Daley. Biles accessorized her look with a white Chanel handbag and a simple pair of diamond stud earrings.
For glam, Biles wore her hair in a coiffed bob with a rosy lipstick.
“Thursday night football,” Biles later wrote via Instagram Story. “Gvng🤞.”
Biles became a football fan after she started dating Owens in 2020. (They famously matched on the dating app Raya but he was unaware of her own athletic career.)
“Well, I could probably explain [football] to a 5-year-old,” Biles quipped in a recent Instagram video for the Olympics. “But, if I’m explaining it to a 25-year-old, it might not make sense.”
According to Biles, the NFL safety “knows so much” more about gymnastics. Owens even received special permission from his Bears coaches to miss a handful of training camp practices to watch her compete at the summer Olympics.
Ahead of the July competition, Owens gave Us Weekly insight into how he supports his wife’s gymnastics meets.
“It is not much motivation you need to do, just because you don’t want to put extra, added pressure on anyone,” Owens exclusively told Us. “I just tell her, ‘Go do your thing, baby.’… As long as she’s there, she’s on the field, give her a kiss and we can go about our way.”
He continued at the time, “You get a different type of focus whenever you just have this one person that you’re focusing on. And I ain’t saying there’s something wrong with being single, but for me, knowing myself, I’ve played a lot better since [meeting Simone], I’ve just been focused and locked in, and you come home, talk about my day and play with the dogs, you know what I mean? That’s just kind of, like, our thing.”
After Biles clinched multiple medals in Paris, she embarked on a Gold Across America tour with the other American gymnasts. After the shows concluded this fall, she spent most of her downtime cheering on Owens at his games.
