‘Sister Wives’ Preview: Christine Gets the Ick as Ex Kody Apologies, Admits He ‘Used to Love’ Her (Exclusive)

Christine Brown is speechless — and a bit surprised — in the new episode of Sister Wives as Kody Brown confesses to loving her in the past while sitting across from her new husband, David Woolley.

“You’re telling me you used to love me? I’m, like, this is my husband here. This is so weird,” Christine, 53, says in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Sunday, December 21, episode of the TLC series.

Christine proceeds to question Kody’s thought process, saying, “Why do you think this is appropriate? Your wife should be here if you’re going to [say] things like that to me. Where’s your wife? Don’t say things like that to me.”

Kody, 56, appears unfazed by Christine’s awkward facial expressions during his apology to her, continuing to say he’s sorry for a plethora of things in their relationship.

“It was a life experience and it was incredibly poetic. It was beautiful like a storm and a sunset,” Kody says of his and Christine’s marriage, as she slightly rolls her eyes. “You know, it was hard days and there were good days and it was beautiful from a poet’s perspective, right?”

Kody then admits to some of his wrongdoings, while Christine and David, 61, sit and nod.

“I apologize for being the freaking victim because I wasn’t. That just sort of seemed to seep into me a little bit,” Kody confesses. “Sometimes the experience was good.”

Kody, who shares six children with Christine, claims he’s “not telling” her “where to be in any way,” but says this is part of his process.

“Our experience and part of this apology, Christine, is me actually going, ‘Wow, that was special when and where it was special,’” Kody adds.

Christine simply mutters, “Uh huh,” as Kody explains why he wanted to meet up with her in the first place.

David, who married Christine in October 2023, also remains silent for the majority of the conversation, but makes it clear to viewers that he is extremely uncomfortable.

“This is kind of awkward. I’m like the third wheel sitting here thinking, ‘OK, what am I doing here?’” David tells the cameras before sounding off on Kody’s comments.

David notes that Kody “know[s] damn well you loved her because you wouldn’t have got married. You wouldn’t have all these kids if you didn’t love her. It’s just, it’s just weird. Sorry.”

Christine and David’s visible uneasiness next to Kody comes after he admitted to Christine one episode prior that he “was angry” when he claimed he didn’t love any of his ex-wives.

Christine, for her part, told the cameras during the Sunday, December 14, episode that it was water under the bridge.

“Again, you just got to let that go. I remember what it was like, but I’ve got a new husband here now and it’s weird, man,” she said on Sunday’s episode. “That’s a weird thing to say. I have a husband right here now, you know, to [say], ‘I used to love you.’ … I know that doesn’t affect me. That’s you.”

As Sister Wives fans know, Kody was married to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine and Robyn Brown before their family began falling apart in 2021. (Christine married Kody in 1994, becoming his third wife.)

Christine was the first to announce her split from Kody in November 2021 after more than 25 years of being in a spiritual marriage.

Janelle, who married Kody in 1993, confirmed in December 2022 that she had separated from him. Meri, who wed Kody in 1990, followed suit in January 2023, announcing that the pair had parted ways.

Robyn — whom Kody spiritually wed in 2010 before legally marrying her and adopting her three children from a prior marriage in 2014 — has remained by his side.

Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
