“Saturday Night Live” lampooned Vice President Kamala Harris‘ sit-down interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier that took place last week, portraying her in a favorable light for handling her combative first-ever sit-down with Fox News.

In the sketch, actor Alec Baldwin — in his first appearance since being acquitted of manslaughter — ditched the Trump wig to mock Baier’s aggressive questioning of Harris, 60.

“Thank you Bret,” comedian Maya Rudolph said during the opening, sounding remarkably like the vice president’s voice. “The pleasure is neither of ours.”

“When I interviewed President Trump, my first question to him was what do you think is the most important issue facing our nation. So my first question to you is give me the exact number of murderers you let loose in this country,” Baldwin’s Baier asked.

In real life, Baier interviewed Trump, 78, back in June of last year while he was in the midst of a Republican primary for the presidency.

Baier had garnered high praise from media critics for grilling Trump at the time.

His first question to Harris was really, “How many illegal immigrants would you estimate your administration has released into the country in the last three and a half years?”

During the recent interview with Harris, Baier was keen on preventing her from filibustering his questions and cut her off at times in an attempt to get past the talking points.

Harris’ handlers had scrambled behind the scenes to whittle down the time that Baier had to interview the veep. She had also showed up late to the interview, according to Baier.

Baldwin mocked Baier’s line of questioning about why so much of the country was planning to vote for her rival, despite her campaign’s dire warnings about him.

“Are you saying Trump voters are misguided? Are they stupid,” Baldwin’s Baier asked.

“Oh no, I would never say that,” Rudolph shot back.

“Are they idiots who can’t think for themselves? Are they morons?” Baldwin followed up.

Later he chided that she was merely looking for a viral moment. That was an assessment that Baier had after the interview and he mused that she may have succeeded.

“I am not looking for a viral moment,” Rudolph said, before looking to the side and speaking to the cameras for a faux TikTok clip. “See how I don’t let men interrupt my answers? Very demure. Very mindful.”

Baier’s interview with Harris had garnered about 8 million viewers, according to the network. That made it one of the highest-rated political interviews of the 2024 election cycle.

Baldwin’s return to SNL marks his first since a judge threw out an involuntary manslaughter case against him in July over the shooting that took place on the movie set of “Rust” in 2021 that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Baldwin was holding the prop revolver that discharged and was adamant he was not aware it was loaded with live ammunition. A judge overseeing the case determined that prosecutors withheld evidence.
