Sonic has launched a “Daily Cravings & Savings” lineup with deals as low as $1.49 as fast-food chains continue to push discounts to lure cash-strapped customers.

Sonic will offers deals on menu items on specific days of the week for a month at a time. Then, it will launch new daily offerings at the start of each month, the company said.

Some of the discounts will only be available for online or on Sonic app orders in an effort to draw mobile app users.

Sonic’s January deals include discounts on cheeseburgers, hot dogs, sodas and slushies. Some of the deals are restricted to just Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while two of the deals are available every day.

Here’s the “Daily Cravings & Savings” menu for January:

  • Mondays: $1.99 Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburgers
  • Tuesdays: Half-price Classic Sonic Cheeseburgers after 5 p.m. via online or mobile orders
  • Thursdays: $1.49 Chili Cheese Coneys
  • Everyday: Half-price drinks and Slushes via online or mobile orders
  • Everyday: The fun.99 menu, which includes menu items for $1.99

Along with the new daily specials, Sonic updated its “fun.99” menu — which it launched in July. The new $1.99 menu includes the Grilled Cheese Burger, Queso Wraps, the Soft Pretzel Twist and Small Cream Slushes in Blue Coconut, Strawberry or Blood Orange flavors.

Sonic is also offering two one-day-only deals in January. On Jan. 15, customers can enjoy 99-cent corn dogs. On Jan. 29, a four-piece mozzarella sticks will cost $1.49.

The value menu and daily deals are attempts to compete with rivals like McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King, which each launched their own value meals last year as inflation-battered customers cut back on spending.

McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal worked so well that it extended the limited-time offering multiple times.

The Golden Arches last week launched a new value menu with “buy one, get one” offerings and combo deals.
