Chef Curry might need to find a new recipe after the Warriors’ star cooked up a rotten egg of a performance Thursday night against the Grizzlies.
Steph Curry recorded just two points in 24 minutes on the court in what ended up being a 144-93 loss to Memphis.
The ugly effort from Curry saw him miss all seven attempts from the field, with his only two points coming from the free-throw line.
It marked the first time in his career that Curry had played at least 12 minutes and not made a single field goal, and it was the lowest-scoring game in which he played 24 or more minutes.
The last time Curry scored two or fewer points was in a March 8, 2018, contest against the Spurs.
In that game, he played a little more than two minutes.
Curry entered the night averaging 20 points, shooting 45.2 percent from the field.
The rough night for Curry was compounded by the fact that the Warriors lost by more than 50 points, and the defeat to the Grizzlies was the fourth-worst loss in franchise history.
This brutal defeat comes after Golden State lost a game by 52 points to the Celtics last season.
Curry told reporters after the game that “the vibes are way better” than what they were after the last loss like this.
“I don’t like the ‘panic’ word,” Curry said about the Warriors’ current state. “I like accept where you are and buck and try to change the momentum of the season. Panic kind of means you don’t have an answer. I think we do have answers. Obviously a sense of urgency, for sure.”
Golden State has now lost three consecutive games and dropped nine of its last 11 overall.
At 14-12 on the season, the Warriors are sitting in 10th in the Western Conference.
