- ABC News fired Terry Moran on Tuesday after he called Donald Trump a “hater” online.
- Moran posted a video revealing his next career move two days after his ousting.
- “I can’t wait to get at it, get at the important work that we all have to do,” Moran said.
Former ABC News reporter Terry Moran has revealed where his career is headed next, two days after the network fired him for calling President Donald Trump a “world-class hater” in a social media post.
The 65-year-old shared a self-filmed video to X Thursday morning, in which he informed his followers where he’ll be reporting next.
“Hello everyone. I’m Terry Moran, and for almost 28 years I was a reporter and anchor for ABC News. As you may have heard, I’m not there anymore,” he began, before revealing that he’s taking up professional residence on the subscription-based content platform. “I’m here, with you, on Substack, this amazing space.”

He added that he “can’t wait to get at it” and do “the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country” on Substack.
“I’m going to be reporting and interviewing and just sharing with you and hoping to hear from you as well,” Moran continued. “It’ll be a few days, maybe a little bit longer, I’ve got to get some stuff sorted out. But, can’t wait to see you.”
Moran was terminated by ABC News on Tuesday, days after he shared a since-deleted social media post Saturday, criticizing Trump and his deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller.
The post referred to Miller as “a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred,” and labeled Trump a “world-class hater.”
On Tuesday, ABC News confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Moran was no longer with the channel.
“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,” a statement read. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

In response to Moran’s initial post, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt referred to Moran as a “so-called ‘journalist'” and classified his post as a “rampage against Stephen Miller.”
“This is unhinged and unacceptable,” she wrote on X. “We have reached out to ABC to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable.”
