Congrats, Knicks, on raising the NBA title banner at Madison Square Garden before Tuesday night’s season opener against LeBron James and the 76ers.

There will be no more talk about the 53-year drought without a title or questions about which star or coach or general manager might finally get the Knicks over the hump.

The Knicks followed their banner-raising ceremony with a 106-100 loss to Philadelphia, as no amount of pomp or celebrities could overcome poor shooting nights from Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby while Tyrese Maxey led the new-look Sixers with 28 points.

But this is New York, and while one title is nice, the honeymoon will last only so long.
