The Detroit Lions take on the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football to close Sunday’s portion of Week 10 in the NFL.
Both teams lead their respective divisions, with the Lions (7-1) atop the entire NFC, while the Texans (6-3) rank fourth in the AFC and hold a two-game lead over Indianapolis in the AFC South.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff is in the NFL MVP conversation, while his counterpart, Texans second-year signal-caller C.J. Stroud, has been under siege and hasn’t yet been able to replicate his stellar rookie season.

Game notes: This is the Lions’ fourth road game in the past five weeks. They are 4-0 on the road, and have won six straight overall. The Lions have a one-game edge over the Vikings in the NFC North Division, and 1½-game lead over the Packers, with road wins over both. Detroit is trying to repeat as division champion for the first time since winning the winning its division from 1952-54. The Lions last won seven straight games during a season in 1995.
The Texans have the rest advantage, last playing on Thursday night in Week 9 and losing to the New York Jets. Houston is banged up without receiver Stefon Diggs (ACL) for the season, top pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) and is beat-up on the interior offensive line. Standout receiver Nico Collins (Michigan) is questionable after missing four consecutive games with a hamstring injury.
Up next: The Lions in Week 11 host the slumping Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7 entering Sunday); the Texans will visit in-state rival Dallas on Monday Night Football.

Lions vs. Texans predictions, picks
Carlos Monarrez, Detroit Free Press: The Texans could be getting top receiver Nico Collins back for this game. It won’t matter because the Lions could be getting some pass-rushing help from Za’Darius Smith to help pressure quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was sacked eight times last week by the New York Jets.
