Todd Chrisley is ready for his close-up after being pardoned by President Trump and released from prison Wednesday night.
The “Chrisley’s Knows Best” star confirmed that he and his wife, Julie, have already begun filming for the family’s new reality series following their two-and-a-half years behind bars.
“Started filming literally the night that we got home,” the Chrisley patriarch revealed at a press conference on Friday.
The couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, said the new series will give fans a look at the emotional moment that her parents “see each other for the first time.”
The upcoming Lifetime docuseries was announced last week and was said to follow the Chrisley family as they navigated the absence of Todd and Julie after their 2022 convictions for tax evasion and bank fraud.
“We had just wrapped filming for all intents and purposes and then we get the call that they had been pardoned, so we picked right back up,” Savannah said. “We’re excited because I think this new show is going to give people a look into the trial and things that we went through and we’re gonna set the record straight, put some documents out there.”
The “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast host also revealed that viewers can expect to see her dad “on quite a few different shows” soon.
In August 2019, Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted on 12 counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy, all of which they have denied. They were sentenced in November 2022 to a combined 19 years in prison.
The Chrisleys walked free on Wednesday as a result of “full and unconditional” pardons from Trump, whom the family has publicly supported. Savannah campaigned for Trump during the 2024 presidential election and spoke at the Republican National Convention.
Savannah has maintained that her parents are innocent and were only “targeted” because of their conservative values and high profiles.
