Donald Trump has released a new $100 commemorative coin in yet another merchandise drop as he seeks cash from supporters.

The coins show Trump’s face and an image of the White House with the words “In God We Trust.” This drop comes after the former president launched golden Trump sneakers and Trump bibles earlier this year. He has also been selling several batches of NFTs and physical Trump cards.

Meanwhile, Janet Jackson spread the false claim previously peddled by Trump and others that Kamala Harris is not Black The singer made the comments in an interview with The Guardian published on Saturday.

“She’s not black,” Jackson said. “That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”

When the reporter pushed back, explaining Harris is both Black and Indian, Jackson held her ground and falsely claimed the vice president’s father is white.

“That’s what I was told,” Jackson said. “I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

Trump spread the baseless claim earlier this summer, telling the National Association of Black Journalists that Harris only recently “became a Black woman.”

Harris’s father, Donald Harris, was born and Jamaica and is Black. Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, is Indian.

700 former high-ranking national security officials endorse Harris

17:15 , Katie Hawkinson

Nearly 750 former high-ranking national security officials have endorsed Kamala Harris for president, warning against Donald Trump’s “scary authoritarian streak.”

“We do not agree on everything, but we all adhere to two fundamental principles,” the endorsement letter reads. “First, we believe America’s national security requires a serious and capable Commander-in-Chief. Second, we believe American democracy is invaluable.”

“Each generation has a responsibility to defend it,” the letter continues. “That is why we, the undersigned, proudly endorse Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States.”

Retired Navy Rear Admiral Michael Smith told The Hill that Harris is prepared to be a “strong commander-in-chief.”

“As we’ve seen for nearly a decade, however, former President Trump has none of those qualities, and he has a scary authoritarian streak,” Smith said.

Harris surges ahead of Trump in latest national poll but swing states remain toss-up

17:01 , John Bowden

A new national poll reveals Kamala Harris taking a clear lead for the first time, another sign that the Democratic presidential candidate continues to enjoy an advantage in momentum over her opponent Donald Trump with less than 50 days until the election.

An NBC News survey, published Sunday, shows Harris up five percentage points over Trump, boosted by what appears to be formerly undecided voters who had previously indicated they supported neither the Republican candidate nor his former opponent, Joe Biden.

John Fetterman says fellow senator JD Vance has ‘reputation to say dumb things’

16:30 , Katie Hawkinson

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman laughed off claims from JD Vance that Democratic rhetoric inspired the two assassination attempts against Donald Trump this summer.

“Who’s actually listening to what Vance says?” Fetterman told NBC News on Sunday.

“He has developed the kind of reputation to say dumb things, pointless things, and offend everybody, and he’s been picked as the most unpopular pick in history, but no one’s listening to him,” he added. “I’m certainly not.”

Last week, Vance said that the lack of assassination attempts against Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are evidence that Democratic rhetoric is fueling violence against Trump.

“No one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months,” Vance said at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event last Monday. “I think that’s pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down the rhetoric or somebody is going to get hurt.”

Trump has similarly blamed Harris for the attempts on his life: “The Rhetoric, Lies, as exemplified by the false statements made by Comrade Kamala Harris during the rigged and highly partisan ABC Debate…has taken politics in our Country to a whole new level of Hatred, Abuse, and Distrust.”

‘She’s not Black’: Janet Jackson makes shocking comments about Kamala Harris’s heritage

16:15 , Lydia Spencer-Elliott

Janet Jackson has falsely claimed that Kamala Harris is not Black and has a white father, echoing words from Harris’s electoral opponent Donald Trump.

The singer, 58, whose brother Tito passed away aged 70 last week, made the surprising comments about the vice-president when asked how she felt about the US having its first female Black president.

In response, Jackson called into question Harris’s heritage, evoking comments questioning the Democratic candidate’s race previously made by Trump in July.

Ohio’s Republican governor, Mike DeWine, denounced in a heartfelt op-ed the onslaught of attacks by Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, against Haitian migrants in Springfield that have made the city the “epicenter of vitriol over America’s immigration policy.”

In an emotional op-ed in The New York Times on Friday, DeWine said it was “disappointing” that the 58,000-person city “has become the epicenter of vitriol over America’s immigration policy, because it has long been a community of great diversity.”

RFK Jr boasted over ‘nude pics’ of NY Magazine reporter as her former fiancé reveals they have parted ways

New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi sent “demure” nude photos to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. which he later bragged about, two new reports claim.

The publication announced Thursday that Nuzzi, 31, had been placed on leave after disclosing a “personal relationship” with “a former subject” relevant to the election. Soon afterwards, media reporter Oliver Darcy revealed that subject to be 70-year-old RFK Jr, who is married to the actor Cheryl Hines.

Nuzzi apparently sent nude photos to the former independent presidential candidate, Puck News reported on Friday. Kennedy then bragged to his friends about receiving intimate photos of Nuzzi, The Daily Beast reported Saturday. These boasts ultimately made their way back to her boss, New York Magazine editor David Haskell.

Iowa Teamsters union backs Harris: ‘Track record that’s pro-worker’

The biggest local Teamsters union in Iowa has announced their backing of Kamala Harris.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters recently stated that they would not be endorsing a candidate.

Teamsters Local 238, representing about 5,000 union members in Iowa, announced their backing of Harris on Wednesday, according to the Des Moines Register.

The principal officer of Teamsters Local 238, Jesse Case, said the Biden-Harris administration has been “the most pro-union presidential administration since former President Franklin Roosevelt that ensured better wages, improved working conditions, and protected pensions.”

“The administration’s actions to strengthen the [National Labor Relations Board] have reaffirmed its commitment to holding corporations accountable and safeguarding the rights of workers to organize and collectively bargain,” he added. “These steps have demonstrated Harris’s unwavering support for union workers, and her commitment to rebuilding the middle class.”

Case said former President Donald Trump has “been president before. We know what he’s about.”

He added: “We know he’s got a track record that’s anti-worker and Harris has a track record that’s pro-worker.”

Robert F Kennedy Jr says he ‘lost family’ over Trump endorsement

04:23 , Gustaf Kilander

Robert F Kennedy Jr said on Saturday night during an event in Las Vegas that he “lost family” after backing former President Donald Trump for re-election.

“I lost a lot of family and friends, but I have a new family,” he said to cheers. “People said to me, ‘he’s going to break every promise that he makes. He’ll make a deal, and then he’ll break it.’”

“And what I found is I sat down for meeting after meeting with the president, with his family, with his closest aides … and one of the things … we agreed – we’re going to create a Unity Party … like they do in Europe and parliamentary countries where parties unify with each other to create a government, but they continue to have differences,” the anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist said.

He added: “They are allowed to criticize each other on those differences and question them. And he was very, very open to that, and was very welcoming of that relationship.”

“The three issues that switched me, that prompted me to make this switch, were ending the war, ending the censorship and surveillance regime, and making America healthy again,” the former Democrat said.

It appears that he didn’t address his recent sexting scandal involving New York magazine writer Olivia Nuzzi, who has been placed on leave.

Harris dings Trump’s ‘concept of a plan’ evasion during campaign event with Oprah Winfrey

02:15 , Katie Hawkinson

Vice President Kamala Harris took a jab at Donald Trump’s “concepts of a plan” debate remark and used it to promote her own economic policy.

The Democratic presidential nominee spoke to Oprah Winfrey at the “Unite for America” live-streamed rally in Michigan on Thursday evening about a wide-range of topics, including her small business plan, should she be elected in November.

“Part of my plan is to give startup small businesses a $50,000 tax deduction to start their small business. Right now it’s $5,000. Nobody can start a small business with $5,000,” the vice president said.

“That’s a teeny tiny business,” Oprah joked.

“It’s a concept of a business,” the vice president quipped, referring to a non-answer that Trump gave at the debate last week when asked about his health care plan.

Kamala Harris has a 2.9-point lead over Donald Trump in the latest average of national polls.

Separate swing state polls from Pennsylvania and Michigan show that Harris has etched out a strong five-point lead in both states, while a third battleground is too close to call.

Trump goes on all-caps social media rant about women’s happiness and abortion

Saturday 21 September 2024 16:56 , Katie Hawkinson

Donald Trump posted a rant about women’s happiness on his social media platform, Truth Social, just before midnight on Friday.

“WOMEN ARE POORER THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS HEALTHY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS SAFE ON THE STREETS THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE MORE DEPRESSED AND UNHAPPY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, AND ARE LESS OPTIMISTIC AND CONFIDENT IN THE FUTURE THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO,” the former president posted at 11:42 p.m.

He then went on to discuss abortion, claiming that if he wins the election, women will “no longer be thinking” about the procedure.

“YOU WILL NO LONGER BE THINKING ABOUT ABORTION, BECAUSE IT IS NOW WHERE IT ALWAYS HAD TO BE, WITH THE STATES, AND A VOTE OF THE PEOPLE – AND WITH POWERFUL EXCEPTIONS, LIKE THOSE THAT RONALD REAGAN INSISTED ON, FOR RAPE, INCEST, AND THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER – BUT NOT ALLOWING FOR DEMOCRAT DEMANDED LATE TERM ABORTION IN THE 7TH, 8TH, OR 9TH MONTH, OR EVEN EXECUTION OF A BABY AFTER BIRTH,” he continued.
