Former President Donald Trump said during a rally in Michigan on Saturday that there’s “something wrong” with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“You do know she’s doing really badly, right?” Trump asked the crowd. “She can’t speak. There’s something wrong with her. We went through four years of that. We can’t go through four more.”

On Friday, Trump told podcaster Joe Rogan that his biggest mistake during his first term in the White House was hiring “disloyal people.”

Rogan asked Trump if he had made “bad choices” when putting in place various officials.

“The biggest mistake I made,” Trump said, was that “I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked.”

Trump also hit out at “stupid women” as he accused political commentators of distorting his comments in the run-up to the election.

In a three-hour interview, he appeared to single out MSNBC’s Joy Reid and others.

“Some of these women, they’re so stupid,” he said.

It came as Harris appeared alongside pop superstar Beyonce and country music veteran Willie Nelson in Houston, Texas, for a rally focused on reproductive rights on Friday.

Trump pushes isolationism towards end of speech

19:33 , Gustaf Kilander

As he began to conclude his speech in Michigan, Trump said, “After years and years of building up foreign nations, defending our foreign borders, and protecting foreign lands, we are finally going to build our own country.”

He added: “We are going to take care of our own people. We will defend our borders and protect our citizens, and we will stop illegal immigration once and for all.”

“We will not be invaded, we will not be occupied, we will not be overrun, we will not be conquered. We will be a free and proud nation,” Trump said.

Trump try to appeal to Muslim voters by bashing Liz Cheney

19:10 , Gustaf Kilander

Trump attempted to appeal to Muslim voters in Michigan on Saturday by bashing Former Republican Rep Liz Cheney, who has endorsed and campaigned with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Kamala is campaigning with Muslim hating warmonger Liz Cheney wants to invade practically every Muslim country on the planet. And let me tell you the Muslims of our country, they see it and they know it,” Trump said. “Her father was responsible for invading the Middle East, killing millions of Arabs, millions and this is the one that Kamala is campaigning with. And I know Cheney very well. She lost by the biggest margin in the history of the United States Congress … by almost 40 points.”

Trump claims he will move auto jobs from ‘Shanghai to Sterling Heights’

18:39 , Gustaf Kilander

Trump said on Saturday that under a second Trump administration, jobs would be leaving Mexico and China and returning to Michigan.

“We’ll bring back the auto industry greater than it has ever been. I’m not saying a little bit we’re going to bring them back,” Trump said. “And if they don’t want to build their plant here, you know what they’re going to do. They’re not going to sell cars here.”

He added: “China will not be building those massive plants in Mexico. Vote Trump and you will see a mass exodus of manufacturing jobs from Mexico to Michigan, from Shanghai to Sterling Heights, and from Beijing to Detroit.”

Trump says Detroit makes US ‘developing nation’

18:29 , Gustaf Kilander

Trump doubled down on his criticism of Detroit, saying that the Michigan city makes the US look like a “developing nation.”

“Globalist politicians like Kamala Harris sold you out and let other countries loot and pillage and plunder your wealth and our jobs and our American dreams, 40 percent of Michigan auto jobs were annihilated after NAFTA, the worst trade deal ever made. And I ended it. I ended it with the USMCA,” Trump said.

“That’s Mexico and Canada … And then they allowed China, in one of their brilliant moves, to enter as a growing developing nation … Well, I think Detroit and some of our areas make us a developing nation,” he added. “China doesn’t have any place like that, but they allowed them into the World Trade Organization – that did not work out too well for us.”

Trump slams Harris for changing policy positions

18:18 , Gustaf Kilander

Trump lambasted Harris for changing some of her policies, with the former president claiming she has done so to get elected.

“She’s changed 15 policies in order to be able to run like no transgender operations for people in detention … paid for by the Government, she changed like men and women’s sport,” Trump said.

“She wants men to be able to participate in women’s [sport]. Now she probably got rid of that like no fracking. There will be no for her whole life. She’s no fracking, no oil and gas,” he added.

Harris has said that she won’t ban fracking and helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which increased leases for fracking.

Trump claims Harris crowd booed because Beyonce didn’t perform

18:11 , Gustaf Kilander

Donald Trump took the stage in Novi, Michigan on Saturday, claiming that Harris supporters “booed the hell out of everybody” after Beyonce appeared at a Harris rally on Friday night in Houston, Texas.

“They thought she was going to perform. Now, I would have no interest in that, but they said, and what happened is, my opponent got up and started speaking. They booed the hell out of [her],” Trump said.

“So they have to use people to get people to come, and then they send busses. We don’t send busses. Everybody comes,” Trump claimed.

One of Donald Trump’s close advisers revealed that Barron Trump is the architect of his dad’s podcast strategy ahead of Election Day.

Jason Miller, senior adviser to Trump, told Politico’s Playbook Deep Dive podcast that Barron’s recommendations have been “absolutely ratings gold.” Barron, 18, is the former president’s youngest son and a first-year student at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

“Barron has been very involved in selecting or recommending, I should say, a number of the podcasts that we should do,” Miller said. “I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broken the internet. He’s done a great job.”

VOICES: Kamala’s campaign is in trouble – they still don’t know how to tackle Trump

17:30 , Jon Sopel

Donald Trump was at a rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania this last weekend, and he was in full flow. He went on a ramble about the town’s most famous son, the former golfer Arnold Palmer. The anecdote went on for a full 12 minutes. And let’s face it, with Palmer there is a lot to talk about. He took the coveted green jacket at the Masters on four occasions and won every other major, including the Open twice.

He was credited with taking a lot of the snobbishness out of golf and making it a game for the everyman. But this was not the subject of Donald Trump’s lengthy discourse on Palmer. No, it was the size of his penis. A dead golfer’s manhood had somewhat surprisingly come up (fnarr fnarr) in a way no one could have anticipated.

“This is a guy that was all man,” the former president said. “This man was strong and tough, and I refuse to say it, but when he took showers with the other pros, they came out of there, they said, ‘Oh my God, that’s unbelievable’.”

Stephen Miller indicates what US would look like under Donald Trump

17:24 , Gustaf Kilander

Stephen Miller, Donald Trump’s hard-right immigration advisor, said ahead of the former president’s speech in Novi, Michigan on Saturday, “I want you to picture what the world will look like January 20, next year … The crooked politicians are out of power, and the American people are back in power.”

“The big donors, the special interests, everybody who’s been ripping you off loses their control, and you’re in charge again,” he added. “The border is sealed shut. The illegal aliens are sent home. Our factories are brought back to our shores. Criminals are put behind bars, and our children are taught to love American history and American values. Once again, we will be a proud nation under Donald Trump.”

Shirley MacLaine opens up about uncomfortable 1980s encounter with Donald Trump

16:30 , Olivia Hebert

Shirley MacLaine has recalled an uneasy encounter with Donald Trump in the 1980s.

In an excerpt from her new book, The Wall of Life: Pictures and Stories from This Marvelous Lifetime, the 90-year-old Oscar winner shared that she’s met 13 US presidents, including the 45th and current Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. In the book, she recalled meeting the former president “at some function” in the 1980s, noting that the whole encounter made her feel extremely uncomfortable.

MacLaine told People that she and Trump first crossed paths while she was checking out a space in Manhattan’s 666 Fifth Avenue building, a property Trump owned at the time. Back then, Trump was a real-estate mogul quickly gaining notoriety after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show and David Letterman.

Nostradamus pollster reveals latest 2024 prediction – and how he’s never had ‘so much hate’ in an election

16:00 , Rhian Lubin

Historian Allan Lichtman has insisted that he stands by his prediction about who will win the 2024 presidential race despite recent polls – and revealed that he has “never experienced” so much “hate” in an election cycle.

Lichtman is known as the “Nostradamus” of polling due to the fact he has correctly predicted the results of nine out of 10 presidential elections since 1984.

His method for forecasting the race so accurately is known as “The Keys to the White House,” a system he devised with the Russian academic Vladimir Keilis-Borok in 1981.

And despite the polls, which show the race is now tighter than ever between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Lichtman stands by his prediction that the Democrat will win the White House in November.

Trump suggests getting rid of federal income tax during Joe Rogan appearance

15:30 , Gustaf Kilander

During his appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Trump suggested fully getting rid of federal income taxes and replacing it with tariffs.

The former president suggested a return to economic policies that were in place before the early 1900s.

“Did you just float out the idea of getting rid of income taxes and replacing it with tariffs?” Rogan asked Trump after the former president suggested doing so on Monday on Fox News.

“Were we serious about that?” Rogan asked.

“Yeah, sure … But why not?” Trump responded.

He praised the tariff policies of the 25th President William McKinley.

Without incorporating his suggestion to remove the federal income tax, the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget has estimated that Trump’s economic plans could add $15tn to the debt over the course of a decade.

Rogan says he changed his mind about having Trump on podcast after assassination attempt

15:00 , Gustaf Kilander

Two years ago, Joe Rogan said he wouldn’t have Trump on his show, saying the former president was “an existential threat to democracy.”

Rogan said he changed his mind after Trump was shot during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on July 13.

“Once they shot you, I was like, ‘He’s got to come in here,’” Rogan told Trump. “It’s all about timing.”

Joe Rogan corrects Donald Trump over ‘life on Mars’ claim

14:40 , Barney Davis

Joe Rogan pushed Donald Trump for government secrets on whether there is life beyond Earth, in a wide-ranging interview on his hit podcast.

The former president initially said he had “never been a believer” in extraterrestrial life before saying he had interviewed “solid” jet pilots who claimed to have seen “very strange” things in the sky.

“There’s no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets don’t have life,” Trump said.

But Rogan quickly moved to correct him.

“Well, Mars — we’ve had probes there, and rovers, and I don’t think there’s any life there”.

“Maybe it’s life that we don’t know about,” Trump interjected.

To date, no conclusive evidence of past or present life has been found on Mars despite decades of uncrewed missions to the red planet.

Evidence suggests that during the ancient Noachian time period, the surface environment of Mars had liquid water and may have been habitable for microorganisms, but habitable conditions do not necessarily indicate life.

Trump says biggest mistake during first term was hiring ‘disloyal people’

14:20 , Gustaf Kilander

Donald Trump said during his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast on Friday that his biggest mistake during his first term in the White House was hiring “bad people, or disloyal people.”

The former president has often complained about the establishment Republicans staffing his first administration who often worked to thwart his agenda. His longest-serving Chief of Staff John Kelly, recently called Trump a “fascist.”

Rogan asked Trump if he had made “bad choices” when putting in place various officials.

“The biggest mistake I made,” he said, was that “I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked.”

When Rogan asked if Trump was speaking about “neocons,” Trump said: “Yeah, neocons, or bad people, or disloyal people.”

Joe Rogan asked Donald Trump for specifics on how 2020 was stolen. Then could only laugh at the answer

13:51 , Alex Lang

Joe Rogan could be seen laughing as he pressed former president Donald Trump for specifics on how the election was stolen in 2020.

The Republican nominee sat down Friday for an interview with the No. 1 podcaster. The interview ran for three hours and delayed Trump’s appearance in Traverse City, Michigan, later in the day.

At one point, Trump and Rogan started to discuss the 2020 election.

“I won by like,” Trump said, “I lost by like…I didn’t lose.”

Rogan could then be seen laughing.

“They say I lost, Joe, they say I lost by 22,000 votes,” Trump continued. “That’s like one one-tenth of one percent, it’s less than that. It’s a tiny little thing. Twenty-two thousand votes that’s spread all over this period.

‘If I win, this will be my last election’ Rogan interview underscores Trump’s focus on masculinity

13:30 , Barney Davis

The former president’s interview with Rogan created another opportunity for the Republican nominee to highlight the hypermasculine tone that has defined much of his 2024 White House bid.

Trump has made masculinity a central theme of his campaign, appearing on podcasts targeting young male voters and tapping surrogates who sometimes use crude language.

Rogan pressed Trump on whether he’s “completely committed” to bringing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. into his administration.“Oh, I completely am,” Trump responded, but added he and Kennedy disagree on environmental policies. He said he’ll tell Kennedy to “focus on health, do whatever you want.”

Kennedy has been instrumental in spreading skepticism about vaccines, rejecting the overwhelming consensus among scientists that the benefits of inoculation outweigh the rare risk of side effects.

Trump again seemed to entertain the idea of eliminating federal income taxes, telling Rogan, “Yeah, sure why not?” when asked by the podcast host if he was serious about it.

He also repeated at length his grievances about the 2020 election but said, “If I win, this will be my last election.”

Trump describes lying on the floor covered in blood on Rogan podcast

11:27 , Barney Davis

Trump said it was “more surreal” to be standing inside the White House after first being elected than his assassination attempt in July.

“That should have been surreal,” he said of the failed assassination.

“When I was laying on the ground, I knew exactly what was going on, I knew exactly where I’d been hit.

“They were saying you were hit all over the place, because there was so much blood from the ear.”

He tells Joe Rogan “You would know that better than anyone right? When your ear gets torn up?”

Rogan agrees: “Yeh ears bleed a lot.”

Trump continues: “When that happened I really knew where I was. I knew exactly what happened I said I wasn’t hit anywhere else. But with the presidency – it was a very surreal experience.”

Woodward and Bernstein speak out on Washington Post decision not to endorse either candidate

11:00 , Mike Bedigan

Veteran journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, who broke the Watergate scandal, have condemned their former publication The Washington Post, following the news that the title would not be endorsing a candidate in the 2024 election.

“We respect the traditional independence of the editorial page, but this decision 11 days out from the 2024 presidential election ignores the Washington Post’s own overwhelming reportorial evidence on the threat Donald Trump poses to democracy,” the pair said in a newly released joint statement.

“Under Jeff Bezos’s ownership, the Washington Post’s news operation has used its abundant resources to rigorously investigate the danger and damage a second Trump presidency could cause to the future of American democracy and that makes this decision even more surprising and disappointing, especially this late in the electoral process.”

Trump claims Harris campaign called him a ‘dictator… evil genius’ and a ‘dumb son of a b****’

04:55 , Mike Bedigan

In Michigan, Trump reeled off the methods of attack the Harris campaign had allegedly taken against him.

“Kamala Harris is leading a hate campaign. Got a new thing, you know?” he said. “I think now they’re calling me a dictator.”

“So they started off where I was a dictator. None of it worked. And they went to, he’s an evil genius that didn’t work. Then they went, he’s a dumb son of a bitch that didn’t last long, that didn’t last too long. Then they went back to the dictator stuff.

“They don’t know what they’re doing, those poor people, those poor lost souls. They’re like lost souls.”

Harris recently said she believed her political rival was a “fascist,” following reports that Trump had once told White House officials he “needed generals like Hitler.” Such reports were later confirmed by his former chief of staff John Kelly.

Beyonce tells Texas ‘it’s time for America to sing a new song’

Before welcoming Harris to the stage Beyonce told supporters “it’s time for America to sing a new song.”

“Your voice has power and magnitude,” she said.

“Your vote is one of the most valuable tools, and we need you. Your freedom is your God given right, your human right.

“We all have a role to play to make this a reality. We’re all part of something much bigger. We must vote, and we need you.

“It’s time to sing a new song, a song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall, discord, despair no longer resonate. Our generations of loved ones before us are whispering a prophecy, a quest, a calling, an anthem.

Our moment right now. It is time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing a song of dignity and opportunity. Are you all ready to add your voice to the new American song? Because I am. So let’s do this.”

“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares deeply about the world, my children, and all of our children living. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies.”

“My children and all of our children live in a world where we have the freedom to control our bias, a world where we’re not divided our past, our present, our future, merge to meet us here.

She continued: “Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations. Imagine our grandmothers.

“Imagine what they feel right now, those who have lived to see this historic day, even those who are no longer physically with us, imagine all of their sacrifice, the sacrifices made so we can witness the strength of a woman standing in her power, reimagining what leadership is for all the men and women in this room and watching around the country.”

“I want to give a shout out, to, and you guys have a great lieutenant governor,” Vance told the crowd. “Sorry, we’ve got— sorry, Mark isn’t here.”

Former head of RNC claps back at Trump

Friday 25 October 2024 23:00 , Oliver O’Connell

Michael Steele, a Catholic and former chairman of the Republican National Committee, has responded to Donald Trump’s latest diatribe about Catholics who might vote for Kamala Harris.

Recently, the former president has repeated a bizarre accusation that Catholics are being persecuted by the Democrats, which is especially odd given President Joe Biden is a devout follower of the faith.

Today in Texas he began the same diatribe only to get distracted. Trump said: “Anybody that votes as a Catholic for this, this horrible candidate that can’t put two sentences together— she can’t speak. She can’t put two sentences together.”

Steele posted the clip on X, adding: “As a Catholic…I heard you speak…you couldn’t put one sentence together @DonaldTrump, so I voted for @KamalaHarris.”

He also linked to a post from yesterday in which he explained his vote, writing: “In 2020, I reminded my fellow citizens that the ballot was how we restore the soul of our nation.

“Today, we are asked once again to make a choice, between a darker version of ourselves, or a more hopeful future for our children and grandchildren.

“I choose the love of my country over my party. I choose the noble responsibility of my civic duty. I choose my conscience because it reminds me of what I value as a citizen. I choose to stand with my neighbors against those who would lie to them, undermine their freedoms, turn neighbor against neighbor for the sake of one man. I choose a leader who, despite our political differences, values us more than herself.

“Today I voted for @KamalaHarris, because I choose hope.”

5th Circuit rules ballots must be received by Election Day per federal law

Friday 25 October 2024 22:40 , Oliver O’Connell

The 5th Circuit has ruled that ballots must be received by Election Day and state laws allowing them to arrive later are preempted by federal law. 18 states plus the District of Columbia count ballots received after that day. This decision would override those laws.

However, Kyle Cheney of Politico notes: “Though the circuit decision could theoretically impact this election cycle significantly, the panel left the decision on whether to apply it to this election cycle up to the district court judge who initially ruled the other way.”
