Video shows Republican Vice presidential candidate JD Vance head to the polls to vote in southwest Ohio on Election Day which kicked off Tuesday morning.

As millions of other voters across the country head to polls to cast their ballots, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump hope to learn whether they’ll become the 47th president of the United States.

Results will be rolling in across America all night long, deep into Wednesday, and possibly beyond.

Video shows Vance and some of his family arrive at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church to vote during the morning hours. The voting precinct is just over three miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati in the city’s East Walnut Hills neighborhood.

Vance, who appears cautiously confident in the footage, arrived at the polling precinct dressed in khaki pants, a button-down shirt and a navy blazer. Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, and their sons, Ewan and Vivek, visited the precinct with him.

Originally from Middletown, about 40 miles north, Vance has owned a home in East Walnut Hills since 2018.

Vance is running alongside Trump, who, along with Democratic nominee Harris and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, have spent months pitching plans for handling inflation and the economy, the Southern border, abortion rights, and other top issues.

“I, of course, voted for Donald Trump and myself and so did my wife,” he told reporters outside the voting precinct. Vance said he and his wife also voted for Republican Bernie Moreno, who is running to defeat Ohio U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.

“I feel good about this race.” he said referencing the presidential election. “I felt good about my own race (for Senate) a couple of years ago when I voted in this exact same spot. Hopefully it goes as well for President Trump and me as it went a couple of years ago in Ohio.”

At the precinct, Vance told reporters he hadn’t spoken with Trump Tuesday, but missed a call from the former president about 3 a.m., The Enquirer, part of the USA TODAY Network reported.

“I think that what today represents is an opportunity to pay down a debt that I owe to this country,” Vance said when asked how it felt to vote for himself for vice president near his hometown.
