I spend the majority of my free time wondering what perfumes celebrities wear. Seriously! I have a running list of scents the rich and famous swear by, and I just learned Meghan Markle’s favorite fragrance. It’s a bit surprising, mainly because I don’t know of any other celebrity who wears it.
Markle tells Express that fragrance is her favorite thing. She’s so obsessed that if she forgets to spritz before she leaves the house, she’ll “turn around and go back home.” The perfume she grabs (and should probably have a mini of in her purse) is Oribe Cote d’Azur Eau de Parfum. Yep, the same Oribe that makes luxe haircare also developed this elegant scent.
Oribe’s perfumes fly relatively under the radar, but they shouldn’t be slept on — especially Cote d’Azur. This is Oribe’s signature scent, and it’s also found in their haircare products. Inspired by the lush French coast, it’s airy, bright and warm, and immediately transports you to summers by the sea.
When you first spritz Cote d’Azur, you’ll catch whiffs of zesty citrus like black currants, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange. As it lays on your skin, the floral notes of tuberose, cyclamen and white butterfly jasmine emerge. The longer it wears, the more inviting it becomes with all-encompassing base notes of sandalwood, vetiver and crisp amber. It sounds like a scent fit for a queen (er, duchess).
Although Cote d’Azur might not be as popular as some luxury perfumes, anyone who has experienced the fragrance becomes completely enamored with its aroma.
“[This is a very clean, crisp, wealthy and classy smell with lots of attraction and sex appeal,” one five-star reviewer writes. “One of my favorites. It is definitely a different, unique and good smell. I buy a lot of rare-smelling perfumes. This is a beauty. I need 100 bottles just in case they stop selling it.”
At $135 a bottle, the perfume is much more attainable than some prestige bottles. (It’s rare to find a quality scent under $200 nowadays!). Smelling like a rich mom without spending an arm and a leg is incredible.
I completely understand why Meghan Markle can’t go anywhere without Oribe Cote d’Azur Eau de Parfum. You’ll feel the same way once you catch a whiff!
