By now you’ve probably heard of Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of 73-year-old former NFL coach Bill Belichick. Their relationship has been under intense scrutiny ever since Belichick appeared on CBS News’s Sunday Morning, which Hudson tagged along for — she’s allegedly been handling some of his business dealings. CBS anchor Tony Dokoupil described her as a “constant presence” during the interview, and she was even caught on camera interjecting after he asked Belichick how the couple met. And while things seemed fine and dandy between them at this weekend’s Miss Maine USA pageant, recent allegations say that the former cheerleader was banned from entering the football facilities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where her boyfriend currently coaches.
The rumors were first mentioned during an episode of Pablo Torre Speaks Out, a podcast from sports journalist Pablo Torre, that was released on May 9. He alleged that two “higher-up” sources from the university said Hudson was no longer welcome in the team’s football building or on the practice field. “Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward,” the source reportedly said.
In a statement released on May 9, the school denied that Hudson had been barred from the premises. “While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” the school said, per CNN. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
Still, Torre stands by what he said. He responded with his own statement via X: “UNC can choose to describe or change its position on Jordon Hudson’s involvement however it wishes, following the publication of our episode. We requested comment and filed dozens of FOIA requests that were not satisfied. And we stand by the specific reporting in our episode, which came from the highest levels of the football program.”
Beyond the drama with the school, Torre also alleged that a source from Belichick’s family said they were “extraordinarily concerned with what has transpired.” “There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill’s legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades,” the source reportedly said.
According to People, Belichick is set to appear on Good Morning America for a live interview with Michael Strahan on Friday, May 16. While it’s unclear if he’ll address these specific rumors — or his age-gap relationship — I’m sure that Hudson will be there, right by his side, ready to interject as needed.
