This just might be the last time Ronaldo steps on the pitch in a World Cup match.

On Thursday, July 2, CR7’s Portugal will line up against Luka Modrić’s Croatia in a sink-or-swim round of 32 knockout stage contest at Toronto’s 45,736-seat BMO Field.

If you’d like to be there for this potentially historic clash — and Ronaldo’s swan song if A Seleçã loses — last-minute tickets are still available.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats to get in was $1,608 USD including fees on SeatGeek.

100-level seats start at $1,991 USD including fees.

While expensive, it’s hard to put a price on seeing Ronaldo in the Taça do Mundo (his sixth!) one final time.

In their group stage matches, A Seleçã beat Uzbekistan 5-0 and tied Colombia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to notch a 1-2-0 record.

Pundits weren’t impressed.

Yahoo! Sports claimed “for Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, the 2026 World Cup has been anything but convincing. A team that entered the tournament with championship aspirations finished second in Group K with just five points, managing only one win and two draws.”

Vatreni went 2-0-1, losing to England and then rebounding with victories over Panama and Ghana to advance to the knockout round.

And, even though Croatia is riding a two-game win streak, the underperforming Portugal is still the favorite on Thursday with -125 odds.

“They [Portuguese fans] should rest assured,” second striker João Félix said on Monday. “Just because we drew two games doesn’t mean we’re any less confident. It’s the World Cup. Everyone just needs to stay calm. We’re very confident that we’ll beat Croatia.”

Thursday’s match will be the first time these elite clubs meet in the World Cup over the course of their respective histories. Prior to this duel, they’ve played ten times dating back to 1996. Portugal has won six of those while Croatia has only been victorious once. The other three matches were draws.
