The NASCAR Xfinity Series has its first cutoff race of the playoffs, the Drive for the Cure 250 on Saturday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
It’s go time for Justin Allgaier, who has crashed in the first two playoff races and is seven points behind AJ Allmendinger for the cutoff spot at eighth place.
Sam Mayer is -13, while Parker Kligerman is -16 behind the cutoff. The X-factor is Shane van Gisbergen, who has been so good on road courses all year but is -10 behind Allmendinger. A SVG win would impact several drivers and will be on the minds of the 12 playoff teams, as will Allmendinger’s position. Four drivers will be eliminated from the playoffs after Saturday’s race.
