Argentina is on the precipice of fútbol history.

With a win against Harry Kane’s England in the 2026 World Cup semifinals at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday, July 15, Lionel Messi’s La Albiceleste would become just the eighth country to play in consecutive finals matches.

If you’d like to be there to see if the defending champions can pull off this feat — or root for The Three Lions to upset Argentina — last-minute tickets are still available for this tourney-defining match.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $2,931 including fees on SeatGeek.

100-level seats start at $3,449 including fees.

While prohibitively expensive, that tracks largely because Argentina and England have one of the tensest rivalries in fútbol. In addition to their their heated World Cup showdowns in 1966, ’86, ’98 and ’02, the two countries also met on the battlefield in the ten-week, 1982 Falklands War.

Seven years later, England and Argentina sewed up their diplomatic relations but the rivalry still lives on—on the pitch.

“Obviously inside and outside the four lines of the pitch it’s a match that has a lot of history there, a lot of pain and a lot of things behind it,” Argentina forward José López said. “I think we are professionals and we’re going to play it like we play every game: until the last second, leaving our lives on the field.”

Also, of note, there is a possibility that this match is the last Lionel Messi ever plays in the World Cup if Argentina loses.

La Pulga Atómatica is 39 and would be 43 in 2030. If he was to participate, he’d be the second-oldest player in World Cup history after Egypt’s Essam El Hadary who was 45 when he suited up in 2018.

Don’t miss this match. We’re expecting a truly historic contest.
