As someone who writes about live events, the most common question I’m asked is “should I buy tickets for games way in advance or at the very last minute?”
Oftentimes, I don’t know. It’s a mystery. Sometimes, teams get hot, which inflates prices. Alternately, a slumping club or injured star lead to plummeting prices. All any fan can really do is be diligent and keep tabs on what they cost and strike at the right moment.
In any event, I can tell you that buying last-minute tickets for this year’s Super Bowl at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Sunday, Feb. 9 is the move if you want to go.
When our team initially reported on what tickets cost for 2025’s biggest game back on Jan. 16, they started at $4,283 before fees on Vivid Seats.
Eleven days later, they spiked to $4,516 before fees after Travis Kelce’s Chiefs and Saquon Barkley’s Eagles won their AFC and NFC Championship games.
Then, prices started dropping. On Jan. 31, tickets for the Super NOLA (yes, we’re trademarking that) could be found for as low as $3,467 before fees. In our most recent report, the cheapest seats were going for $3,152 before fees.
Now, roughly 48 hours before kickoff, fans can grab tickets for just $2,586 before fees.
That’s almost $2,000 (!) cheaper than what they were going for after Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni’s clubs clinched.
Not a bad deal. Yes, tickets are still expensive but that’s a steal considering you might get to witness the Chiefs become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls (in the Super Bowl era, that is), Kendrick Lamar‘s sure-to-be memorable halftime show and a possible Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift marriage proposal for way, way, way less than you would have paid a little less than two weeks ago.
Still on the fence?
Don’t worry. We totally understand.

For those who have never been out to NOLA, here’s a look at all the views the Caesars Superdome offers from the stands to see Mahomes and Hurts square off live.
About the Chiefs vs. Eagles matchup
Over the past 53 years, Kansas City and Philly have only met 11 times.
As of now, the Chiefs hold a 6-5 advantage over the Eagles, including their thrilling 38-35 Super Bowl win in 2023. Most recently, the clubs squared off in Kansas City on Nov. 20, 2023. Jalen Hurts and co. got their sweet regular season revenge in that contest and won 21-7, outscoring KC 14-0 in the second half.
Coming into this matchup, Andy Reid’s defending champs narrowly defeated the Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship. Buffalo held a 22-21 lead in the third quarter but couldn’t capitalize in a pivotal moment.
“It seems almost unfathomable to think [Josh] Allen could not pick up one yard in a short-yardage situation, but the Chiefs defended those plays well throughout the game,” the New York Post reported.
Over at Philly’s Lincoln Financial Field, the Birds embarrassed the upstart Washington Commanders and ran up the score to secure a 55-23 win. Saquon Barkley rushed for three touchdowns on 15 carries, Hurts tossed one, and A.J. Brown caught an end zone pass as well.
Most excitingly, though, third-string running back Will Shipley hustled for a score of his own, the first in the 22-year-old’s young career.
“Will Shipley scampered past the Commanders’ defense on Sunday en route to a 57-yard dash that nearly ended in the end zone before a defender caught him from behind,” according to The Post. “With the ball at the 2-yard line, Shipley waltzed into the end zone for a touchdown for the final points of the Eagles’ 55-23 win while Barkley ran onto the field to celebrate.”
