A new F1 champion could be crowned today.

It’s time for the Mexico City Grand Prix, and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli is just two points shy of pulling ahead of the competition for good.

To win the World Drivers Championship, all Antonelli must do is finish ninth or higher, regardless of where second and third place drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finish today. If he finishes outside of the top 10, Antonelli will still become the new champion as long as Russell or Hamilton do not finish in first place.

Hamilton and Russell will start first and second, respectively, while Antonelli starts in fourth. It’s the first time since his move to Ferrari that Hamilton has captured P1.

That’s not the only storyline as we head into race day; Haas driver Esteban Ocon, who was already set to leave the team at the end of the season, was suddenly replaced in the lineup by Ryo Hirakawa.

Ocon released a statement on his Instagram story where he confirms “difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved,” but denied that the altercation between him and Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu became physical. The statement does not address his future with Haas beyond this weekend, or confirm his participation in any of this season’s final races.

Here’s everything you need to know to tune in to today’s Formula 1 race.
