As the 2024 Republican National Convention wraps up Thursday evening in Milwaukee, many voters may be wondering about the next presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden.
Biden was widely panned for his performance against Trump in the first debate June 27 and faces heavy pressure from Democratic lawmakers to withdraw from the presidential race. Sen. Peter Welch, D-VT, in early July became the first senator to call for Biden to withdraw, saying the move would be “good for the country.”
During Biden’s debate against Trump last month, the president struggled to articulate his pitch to voters, not finishing sentences or arguments.

When is the next presidential debate?
ABC News announced in May that a debate between Trump and Biden is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. ET.
How to watch next presidential debate
The primetime debate will air on ABC. You can stream it on ABC News Live and Hulu, the network said in a news release.
ABC News will also make the debate available to simulcast on additional broadcast and streaming news networks in America.

What are the qualifications to participate in the next presidential debate?
According to ABC News, candidates must meet the following criteria to participate in the next debate:

Fulfill the requirements outlined in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution of the United States

File a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission

Appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to reach the 270 electoral vote threshold to win the presidency prior to the eligibility deadline

Agree to accept the rules and format of the debate

Receive at least 15% in four separate national polls of registered or likely voters that meet ABC’s standards for reporting
