After pounding Michigan in the Big House, the Ducks (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) remain one of the five unbeatens left in college football. The Big Ten title picture is still fairly open as Oregon shares a first-place tie with Indiana.

Oregon’s high-powered offense (35 points per game) is led by senior quarterback Dillon Gabriel. He has amassed 2,665 yards and 19 touchdowns with five interceptions. Gabriel touts an 88.2 QBR, which is the fourth-highest in the nation. His effectiveness spills out onto the ground, tallying 139 carries for 120 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Gabriel needs just one touchdown to tie the NCAA career record of 178 total touchdowns set by Case Keenum. Gabriel has thrown for 17,530 career yards.

The Ducks lost a dynamic piece of their receiving core with Tez Johnson’s shoulder injury. It appears he could return for the postseason. Johnson had racked up 64 receptions for a team-leading 649 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 10.1 yards per reception.

Evan Stewart will need to pick up the slack. The junior has recorded 31 receptions for 462 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 14.9 yards per reception. Senior receiver Traeshon Holden has 28 receptions for 462 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 16.5 yards per reception.

Oregon’s run game is spearheaded by junior running back Jordan James, who has tallied 159 carries for 917 yards and nine touchdowns. Junior Noah Whittington is also a force, tallying 72 carries for 306 yards and four touchdowns.

The Ducks tout the No. 17 pass defense in the nation, allowing 172.8 yards per game. Oregon also claims the 10th best scoring defense in the FBS, allowing 15.8 points per game. Senior defensive back Tysheem Johnson waits in the wings with 21 solo tackles and two interceptions.

Sophomore defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei has racked up 14 solo tackles and 5.5 sacks with one forced fumble while junior defensive lineman Derrick Harmon has tabbed 16 solo tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles.

It’s the third time the Ducks have started a season 9-0. They are 8-1 all-time when ranked as the No. 1 team in the country.
