Rita Moreno is speaking out amid fan concern after she cancelled her scheduled appearance for the April 23 episode of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney at the last minute.

The EGOT recipient, 93, was originally slated to appear on the Netflix show alongside Ayo Edebiri and Conan O’Brien. However, Tina Fey ended up stepping in for her, and Mulaney told viewers of Moreno, “We hope she’s doing okay.”

In a statement, a representative for the actress told PEOPLE they were “happy to report” that “nothing serious” was behind Moreno’s absence.

“Rita came down with a bout of vertigo on Tuesday. And because she lives in Berkeley, CA, she couldn’t get on a plane down to L.A.,” the rep said.

Moreno was “bummed” to miss Mulaney’s show — and the rep added that she was also bummed to miss this weekend’s TCM Classic Film Festival, which she was also slated to attend, for the same reason.

Moreno said in a December appearance on Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s podcast, Wiser Than Me, that she’s “just a lucky little b—-” with “fantastic genes” as she explained how she stays in such good shape.

“I try not to watch what I eat. I eat pretty much what I like. I am what my doctor calls ‘pre-diabetic,’ so I do have to be careful about sweets and stuff like that, but I’ve been that for years and I’m still good,” Moreno said.

“I was just born with fantastic genes,” she continued. “I have really good skin for someone who is, you know, 93 today.”

On her 93rd birthday that same month, the West Side Story star celebrated with a Mardi Gras-themed party and went all out with 60 friends and family members — and a chocolate fountain.

She told PEOPLE at the time it’s “remarkable” to be “93 and still enjoy all the good things in life!”

“I am particularly grateful for my family and friends who have filled my life with love and laughter,” she said.
