It’s the end of an F1 era as the 2026 summer break comes to an end.
Today, Aug. 23, marks the final running of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, as the promoter decided not to continue hosting the event beyond this year’s race.
Ahead of today’s Grand Prix, F1 held another sprint weekend. Mercedes’ George Russell started the sprint in pole position and went on to win; Russell will start today’s race second behind McLaren’s Lando Norris. Russell’s Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the race for the World Drivers Championship, starts third.
