Aaron Donald adds fuel to return speculation after Rams’ 34-0 rout

Los Angeles Rams fans have more than one reason to be feeling good on Saturday.

For one, their team just finalized a dominant 34-0 rout of the New Orleans Saints. Granted, this is the preseason, and final scores are ultimately irrelevant. But the Rams’ roster was still firing on all cylinders Saturday, even though their top players weren’t active.

Aaron Donald would immediately become one of these top players if he decides to come out of retirement. And perhaps the legendary defensive lineman dropped a hint about his intention to return right after the Rams’ win.

Donald posted a photo of his hat collaboration with NOMAGIK right after the Rams’ preseason game ended to his Instagram story. The hat is in the Rams’ colors, has the Rams’ logo, says ‘LOS ANGELES’, and has Donald’s first and last name at the bottom.

Granted, this collaboration has been out for a while, and isn’t anything new. But the fact that Donald decided to share it at the time he did could suggest that seeing his former team compete the way they did on Saturday might have stirred a desire to return.

Perhaps this is just wishful thinking, especially after Rams head coach Sean McVay said earlier this week that Donald still wanted to do more workouts before deciding whether he wants to return.

Not to mention that Donald has been using all this added attention to sell several products that he’s attached to in some form, so this could be a cleverly-timed marketing ploy.

But Rams fans will take any excuse they can to be optimistic about his potential return.
