Brandon Aiyuk is expected to arrive at the 49ers’ practice facility by 3 p.m. Friday to see what his future with the franchise might entail.

San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan isn’t interested.

Shanahan was asked by a media member what he expects to happen when Aiyuk and the team meet.

“No clue. Your guess is as good as mine,” he said.

He was then asked what he would like to see happen from the meeting.

“I could care less,” he said.

Shanahan surely meant, “I couldn’t care less,” which could suggest he has no intention of bringing Aiyuk back to the franchise.

And this comes as no surprise, given that the wide receiver did everything in his power to antagonize himself through various unhinged social media posts during the summer — including one in which he seemed to poke fun at Shanahan after he was involved in a car crash.

The veteran wide receiver is on San Francisco’s Reserve/Left Squad list but is expected to be reinstated by the NFL for the first time since 2025.

Several 49ers team members have already addressed Aiyuk’s potential return, with star tight end George Kittle saying, “Do you think he gets into the facility?” when asked about his former teammate’s imminent arrival.

Kittle will have this question answered soon.
