The Mets have dealt left-handed starter David Peterson to the Cubs after getting swept in a doubleheader by Chicago, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
New York will receive minor league third baseman Cole Mathis as the return, The Athletic’s Will Sammon reported.
Peterson, an All-Star in 2025, has largely struggled this year in shuttling between the starting rotation and bullpen with a 6.09 ERA across 68 innings.
