That’s it. Then the playoffs start with the highest expectations this franchise has faced since Jeff Van Gundy roamed the sidelines, maybe even Pat Riley.

To this point, the Knicks have underwhelmed. There was a world where they bulldozed an injured Eastern Conference, secured the top seed early and coasted through April.

But that’s not what happened.
